We are already in heaven

23:57 Friday Jan 23, 2015

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10 NKJV)

When we give our hearts to Christ, he comes and dwells in our hearts. The spirit of God is joined with our spirit and what was dead becomes alive.

We become sons and daughters of God.

The bible says, we me become heirs in the inheritance of Christ and sit with him on the right hand of God.

which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, (Ephesians 1:20 NKJV)

Therefore, as Christians our spirit is already in heaven. Our salvation is already complete. There is no more we need to do to enter heaven, be saved or to receive our inheritance.

When we die, we don't need to pass through judgement in order to get into heaven - as we are already there. We have already accepted the free gift of Jesus' sacrifice for us. He paid  for our sins, past present and future, in full. His sacrifice is sufficient for us.

This is the unwarranted gift off God's grace.

So why do we strive for our salvation? Why do we still think we are not free?

If you are free, you are free indeed.

We must learn to accept what already is.

If there is anything we need to strive for, it is no learn to accept that which has already taken place. We need to come to that place of knowing who we already are in God.

Remember, when God looks at us, all he sees is His son - Christ Jesus. He does not see our sin, our failings, our lack of faith or our broken sinful heart. He sees His perfect, sinless son.

If we would embrace the truth of our salvation, we would then be free to live full of faith in the confidence that there is nothing the enemy can do to steal away our salvation.

Neither life nor death... can separate me from the love of God.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38, 39 NKJV)

What would a life like that look like?

We would no longer worry about food, clothing, housing, or even the position we have in society and the respect of our fellow man (or women).

We would give of ourselves, our money and our time as if we have unlimited resources. As we would know that what we give we draw from the store house of God our father, who owns all the cattle on all the hills.

We would be such an example of God's love and grace that all men would be drawn to us and want what we have. We would then become a walking billboard for God. One who spreads the good news without needing to organize crusades. After all did Jesus have to try and drum up a crowd to speak to about the Love of God? If fact, he had to wok hard to get time to be by himself  - and that time he spent communing with his Father - God.

The power of God would flow through us and we would perform miracles daily. We would be so tuned into the word of God and the heart of God - wanting only to do His will not our own - that his spirit would flow through us in power.

If you want to see a living example of this person, read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. If you want to see examples of men whose lives have be tuned to emulate Christ, read Acts.

Christ was not giving us an impossible example to follow. He was simply showing us what God has created us to be. God crafted us to be exactly like His sons. There is nothing more, or less, that we need. Nothing needs to change except our understanding and acceptance of who we already are in Christ.

So what must we do to be saved?

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9, 10 NKJV)

Is there anything else we must, or must not do?

Paul talks at length about salvation by grace - not works, or the law. He talks of our freedom in Christ - that there is nothing forbidden to us.

Does this mean we are free to sin? By no means. For sin is foolishness. One who sins lacks understanding.

We are also free from the law - but through faith we live to a higher standard than set down by the law. However, that is the law of love - not of the religious leaders.

Why do live lives that are holy as our father in heaven is holy - and why are we given such grace and power?

To glorify God!

to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, (Ephesians 3:10 NKJV)

And so that God can show us the fullness of his love and make our joy complete.

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV)

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” ~ John 3:8

So often in our ministry we feel like we are blown on the wind - not knowing what new and exciting things are going to happen next. Our writing tends to also be the same - blown from one topic to the next.

We wanted an outlet for our thoughts and revelations  - and writings - that would centralise them into one place. So often we are asked about something we are writing or teaching, and we wanted a place we could easily direct people to.
